Theatrical Representation
13 Sep 2004 by admin

The Scott Stander agency now represents me theatrically (film, TV, theatre). I'm very excited. My first audition was for CSI New York which went well. So now I'm looking forward to lots more auditions and of course booking a show.

For those of you not in the biz. here are a few interesting notes on agents. There are approx 250 agents in L.A. Most agencies represent between 50-200 actors. Seems like a lot of room right. Every agent in L.A. receives over 100 actors submissions a day. So just to get an agent interview you need to stand out from the 500 actor submissions a week. If you can wow them in the interview then they sign you.

My next task is to get into the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). Check out these statistics.

There are 118,000 SAG members. At any given time, 75 percent of those members are not working under SAG contracts, and when they are, between 70 and 75 percent earn under $10,000 annually. And get this: Just 2 percent of SAG's membership earns upwards of $500,000 a year. That includes the Tom Hankses and Julia Robertses of the world.
