Scenes, Scenes, and more Scenes

I continue to study with Debra DeLiso and have worked on numerous scenes throughout the year. The latest being Beyond Therapy by Christopher Durang playing opposite Debra herself which was a wonderful opportunity.
We’ve hosted a number of scene nights and our small but loyal crowd are telling us we should be selling tickets. Little do they know we simply appreciate a good audience.

This year has been mostly about character work (both comedy and drama). I’ve also been working on a new improv “game” that I haven’t seen before – the "improv monologue". All stage improv that I’ve seen and read about has at least two people on stage so the improv monologue has been an interesting challenge where one person performs a completely spontaneous scene based on an audience suggestion for 2-3 minutes. But a quick google shows somebody has already stolen my new idea ;-) |
